We conquered a couple of towers and were rewarded with - you guessed it - more great views. The two pics with a wood railing are from the watchtower on Wesser Bald. Other pics are from the stone tower at Wayah Bald.

Cooking On The Trail
Watch "Red Beans w/ Rice and Chorizo : Appalachian Trail" on YouTube
On the trail you'd be surprised at not only WHAT you will eat, but that you will ENJOY eating it.
Haunted Camp ... Or Simply Invasion Of 4 Dogs
Watch "Streams and Camps" on YouTube
Since we have had intermittent connectivity, we're combining some video tidbits. Hope you enjoy this compilation of camps and streams. We've enjoyed exploring them.

Finished Georgia's Portion Of AT Last Week
Buck has been chomping at the bit to 'up' our daily hiking mileage. Hmm, this from the guy who emphasized that its about the experience, not the mileage. I think he forgets that we only started three weeks ago on a multi-month trek.
The first two 'hills' in North Carolina were a long workout. I loved some of the related shelter logbook entries we've seen.."what a welcome to @#%& NC", "haven't they heard of switchbacks?" (switchbacks are a gentler and longer way to get to the top of a big hill or mtn - compared to walking up a straight line).

Watch "Storm: Found Some Water on the Appalachian Trail" on YouTube
This is one of our reactions to the rain. Tents and shelters have been our friends.

Fungus Among Us
You may not see it clearly but the flower-shaped fungus is surrounded by a lush bunch of poison ivy.
Flowers
Thanks to Laura for patiently attempting to teach me more about flowers...again and again :)
Didn't we see some of the tiger lilies on our last trip together to the northwest?
